ACTIVITIES IN THE IMBEKE CENTRE

vocational training

Many women still lack access to employment opportunities, basic education and healthcare and they’re often subjected to violence and discrimination. The math is simple: in countries where there is higher equality, there is less poverty, more economic growth, and a higher standard of living. Imbeke Trust tries to improve opportunities for everyone by dismantling barriers to women’s participation in economic, social and political life.

So that young mothers with babies and toddlers should not interrupt their education, Imbeke has built a beautiful kindergarten with beds, washbasin and furniture where they can put their babies to sleep or where the toddlers can play during class.

income generating activities

Income generating activities to make the Imbeke Centre self-supporting.

Horticulture

A variety of vegetables are grown on the plot and in the shade net, which are offered for sale to visitors and the local market.

Peanut Program

The groundnut program was recently started. Imbeke has the necessary machinery to peel, grind and process the groundnuts into peanut butter.
This machinery is also available to local farmers who can use it for a low fee.
The program aims to cooperate with the farmers. Imbeke can pre-finance their harvest and then buy the groundnuts from them at a fair price. This should provide opportunities for farmers and a win-win situation for both actors, farmers and Imbeke.

Venue

The Imbeke Center is the ideal place for events of all kinds, such as weddings, large gatherings, seminars, etc. In addition to the good accommodation and outdoor space, our catering can be used to make your party / activity a success.

This also gives our students the opportunity to apply their acquired knowledge and skills in practice.
